Australian Beech

One of the most important hardwoods of Australia.  Australian Beech thrives in the warm and relatively humid stretch of New South Wales coastline in a high quality open forest.  It is a tall tree up to 230 feet in height of particularly striking appearance.  Its straight truck rises to at least half of the trees height.  The wood is renowned for both its strength and versatility of application with attractive coloring from cream to pale brown.

Jarrah

One of the few commercial species from Western Australia, Jarrah is renowned world wide for its density, resistance to insect attack, and beautiful rich red which deepens over time into a soft burgundy.

Jarrah's unique qualities have made it an ideal choice for products as diverse as railroad ties and garden furniture.  As flooring Jarrah's beautiful coloring and exceptional hardness are a perfect choice for commercial and residential interiors.

Heritage Oak

A uniquely Australian floor from the rugged Woolshed range of Northern Victoria's Alps.  The natural features found in these wide width boards reflect the colorful history and character of Australia's past.

Alpine Ash

A tall tree found in the cooler high altitudes of the Australian Alps between Melbourne, Victoria and Australia's capital city Canberra.  Preferring steep slopes and sides of mountain ranges, Alpine Ash produces a light consistently creamy colored wood.  It is predominantly straight grained as a result of the quartersawn cut providing Alpine Ash with excellent dimensional stability.  It is ideal for interiors ranging from sophisticated retail spaces to elegant home interiors.

Australian Cypress

From the hilly country of inland New South Wales and Queensland, Australian Cypress is a unique Australian timber with a color and character unlike all others.  Though it is a small to medium sized softwood tree, Australian Cypress actually exceeds the hardness of American Oak.

Australian Cypress flooring offers a characteristic golden brown color with highlights from pale creams to yellow and features decorative tight knots.

Spotted Gum

Spotted Gum grows to 150 feet in height and is found on the east coast from the foothills of the rugged Snowy Mountains in Victoria to the lush coastal regions of southern Queensland.  The word "spotted" refers to the soft mottled color caused by weathering of the outer tree as it sheds elliptical strips of bark.  A very tough timber, the color varies through pale grey browns and soft creams to a rich chocolate brown.  Its frequent wavy grain can produce an attractive and highly valued fiddleback effect.

Rose River Gum

Prized for its lovely rose coloring with tones from the palest pink to a deep tawny red, Rose River Gum is a select group of fast growing hardwoods that thrive in the warm climate of flatlands or on the lower slopes of deep fertile valleys.   Typically a very tall tree to 180 feet in height.  Rose River Gum grows in the extensive natural forests of New South Wales and the coastal valleys of Queensland.  The grain is straight with an occasional "scribble" pattern.

Sydney Blue

A blend of medium to large hardwoods harvested from the coastal regions of Australia including from just north of Sydney to the Atherton Tablelands west of Cairns in the far north.  The name Sydney Blue reflects the attractive blue grey bark which is common to this group of eucalypts.

Timber color varies from soft brown reds to deep rich reds which when blended inflooring give a particularly warm luxurious feeling.

Karri

One of the world's tallest trees surpassed only by California's Redwoods, it is native to the southwest corner of Western Australlia where it has been preferred for all types of construction.

Karri is a lively red with overtones from pale pink to rich reddish brown.  Karri's high density and hard wearing qualities make it highly prized by architects.

Tasmanian Oak

The name Tasmanian Oak is used to describe three species of Eucalypt commonly found in Tasmania, the island state to the south of mainland Australia.  E. Regnans, E. Obliqua, and E. Delegatensis together produce a blend of coloring from pale cream to pink and reddish brown.  Tasmanian Oak logs are cut on the quartersawn to produce an extremely straight and even grain.  This quartersawing also gives excellent dimensional stability, making Tasmanian Oak an ideal choice for extreme climates or over radiant heat.
